FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
I don't put a strict 'cap' on the number of images I deliver because every story is different! On average, for a standard session, you can expect between 25-30 fully edited, high-resolution images. My goal is to give you every single 'good' shot though. I'm not going to keep the good ones from you, I promise! :)
How should we dress for our family session?
Coordinate don't match. I will gladly help style your family. Just send me a message and we can discuss!
When should I book my newborn session?
Most families reach out during their second trimester. Because babies rarely arrive on their actual due date, photographers usually "pencil in" your due date and then finalize the actual session date once the baby is born. The earlier you get on my books, the better as my availability fills up quickly.
How long before I can see my edited gallery?
Online galleries are usually delivered with 2 weeks from your session date.
For ordering appointments, your appointment will be scheduled within 3 weeks of your session date at the studio.
Do you provide props & backdrops? What should I bring?
To make your experience as seamless as possible, please know that I provide everything needed for your session. From backdrops and floordrops to a full wardrobe of maternity dresses, baby wraps, outfits, and accessories, the studio is fully equipped! You are not expected to bring any clothing or props unless you have a specific look you are wanting or a family keepsake or sentimental item you’d like to include in your portraits.
Will I get all of the unedited photos you take?
I want you to have the absolute best version of your memories! Because I shoot in a professional RAW format, the images are "unfinished" and require my hand editing process to bring out the colors and light you see in my portfolio. As mentioned before, I will not keep any good photos away from you!
What if I have something fun or sentimental I want to bring to include in the session?
Absolutely! This is what makes YOUR session unique so I encourage you to bring any items along that you may want to include! Some items clients have brought were: A grandmother's necklace, A Bible, a special quilt, Military jacket & boots, toy trucks, etc..
"But my husband HATES photos. How can I get him to join in?
I hear this all the time, and I promise your husband is in good company! Most dads show up feeling a little skeptical (or even dreading the "stiff posing"), but here is the secret:
It’s Not a "look at the camera and say cheese" kind of session.
Most of the time, dads leave my sessions saying, "Wait, that was actually kind of fun." That’s because my goal isn’t to make him perform for the camera. Instead of stiff, traditional posing, I focus on interaction. We’ll keep things moving, keep it light, and focus on you guys just being together. It’s less like a formal photoshoot and more like a relaxed window of time carved out for your family.
